En paral·lel

Abandon and improvisation, where past and present intersect in a blurry boundary

En paral·lel explores the dialogue between tradition and modernity by merging the codes of Québécois and Catalan folklore with contemporary choreographic expressions. This work highlights the cultural richness and diversity of movements rooted in these traditions while reinterpreting them from a contemporary perspective.

Beyond its aesthetics, En paral·lel invites reflection on the notions of individual and collective freedom through raw, authentic gestures rooted in the performers’ experiences. This collaborative project, initiated by LES ARCHIPELS and the Fira Mediterrània de Manresa, brings together two choreographers from Montreal, one from Barcelona, and eight performers from Quebec and Catalonia.

Presented in situ in October 2024 during the 27th edition of the Fira Mediterrània de Manresa, the 30-minute performance offered a unique experience, celebrating cultural diversity and freedom of expression.
